How Nora's Day Moves Up North Railroad Avenue, Block by Block

In the Nora District, the address tells you roughly what time of day a place is for. The low 800s of North Railroad Avenue hold the coffee, bagels, juice and tacos. The 900s hold the workout studios. Around the 1000 block, the tenants change to full-service dinner rooms and a sports bar. On October 19, 2026, the street gets its evening anchor when The Nora Hotel opens at 1135 N Railroad Ave., with Stephen Starr's Pastis on the ground floor and a rooftop run with the team behind Mary Lou's.

The district's name comes from North Railroad Avenue, and the street itself is a run of century-old railway warehouses converted into restaurants, shops and studios along a cobblestone stretch. Because it is one long street, the walk from one end to the other also moves from breakfast to late dinner. Here is how it runs this fall, from the south end north.

The 800 block starts early

Sunday Motor Co., an automotive café at 805 N Railroad Ave., sits at the southern edge. It also hosts the district's earliest regular event, Sunday Service, a cars-and-coffee gathering that runs Sundays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Within a few doors are Carousel Fine Art at 845, Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar at 840, IGK Salon at 860, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream at 870 and Celis Juice Bar at 895. H&H Bagels is on this block too. Its exact street number differs between the district's directory and an earlier Palm Beach Post guide, so look for it by name.

Loco, a taco and oyster bar concept from Boston, opened February 28 and is the 800 block's evening tenant. Taco Tuesdays there are part of the district's weekly calendar. Just around the corner, ZenHippo is at 485 7th St.

The 900 block is the studio block

Next come the workout rooms. SWEAT440 is at 905 N Railroad Ave., and solidcore is next door at 915. solidcore's district profile announced an August 25 opening, and the page now lists regular hours.

The 905 address shows how far the leasing plan has moved. A 2023 announcement placed Rumble Boxing there. The current directory lists SWEAT440 at that address and does not include Rumble.

Toward the top of the 900s, the shops get quieter and more specialized. Le Labo Fragrances is at 975. LUCE, an 800-square-foot fine-jewelry boutique founded by cousins Valan Kaye and Ty Yanowitch of the family behind Kravit Jewelers, is at 985. LUCE held a public preview opening on Thursday, September 24, and its profile now shows regular hours.

The 1000 block is where dinner starts

Past 1000, the tenants lean toward evening. Del Mar, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants' Mediterranean restaurant at 1015 N Railroad Ave., opened April 7. Sports & Rec, which the district associates with the Garret Group, is at 1035 and officially opened June 16. Pompanos, run by founder Paul DiGiovanni, is at 1070.

The same block has a cluster of appointment businesses: Warby Parker at 1040, Mint at 1045, Sana Skin Studio at 1055 and Gro Yoga & Wellness at 1065.

The district's weekly calendar follows the same layout. The only standing morning event is at the south end. Two of the three weeknight events are in the 1000 block.

Day Recurring program Venue Address
Sunday Sunday Service cars-and-coffee, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday Motor Co. 805 N Railroad Ave.
Monday Happy Meal Mondays Sports & Rec 1035 N Railroad Ave.
Tuesday Taco Tuesdays Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar 840 N Railroad Ave.
Wednesday Wine Wednesdays Del Mar 1015 N Railroad Ave.

The district also runs one-off events. September's included Wellness Gone Wild on September 18 and Dogs & Dogs on the North Lawn on September 24. As of October 3, the happenings page does not list any dated October events.

What 1135 adds on October 19

The Nora Hotel is scheduled to open October 19, 2026, at the north end of the street. It is the first ground-up hotel outside New York City from BD Hotels, the group behind The Bowery, The Mercer and The Greenwich. BD Hotels developed it with hotelier Sean MacPherson and partners NDT Development, Place Projects and Wheelock Street Capital. The five-story building, designed by Stantec with interiors by Gachot Studios, has 201 rooms, including 14 suites. It uses Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial Revival details, and guests enter through a loggia garden.

Haute Living's announcement says the opening is timed to the start of Palm Beach season, which it describes as running from October through April. For the street, the bigger change is what the hotel adds to the evening end. According to that announcement, the property includes:

  1. Pastis, Stephen Starr's Parisian-style brasserie, covering more than 13,000 square feet on the ground floor, with onion soup, escargots, steak frites and raw bar platters.
  2. Pastis Privé, next to the brasserie, the hotel's private event space.
  3. Lillys Pool, the rooftop's daytime poolside dining service.
  4. Bar Lilly, an aperitif lounge that takes over the rooftop in the afternoon.
  5. Cafe Lilly, the rooftop's full-service dining room.
  6. A Sisley Spa Paris, plus a fitness center and a lobby bar.

The rooftop is run with Mama Hospitality, the group behind Mary Lou's, and STARR Restaurants leads the food program. The announcement describes plans for live music, poolside sets and collaborations, but it does not give any dates.

The hotel's opening date is firm, but Pastis does not yet have one. Haute Living notes that Pastis West Palm Beach has so far announced only a fall 2026 opening, and the district's own page still lists it as arriving soon. Pastis may not be serving dinner on October 19, so check its site before you plan a meal there.

The undated openings are at the south end

The street's next openings don't all follow the north-end pattern. Indaco, an Italian restaurant at 1080 N Railroad Ave., is the only one with a stated target, "late 2026," and it is a few doors from Pompanos in the dinner block.

The other three announced spaces are in the 800 block, and none has a date:

  • Nami Nori, a 4,300-square-foot Japanese temaki restaurant at 855 N Railroad Ave. from chef-partners Taka Sakaeda and Jihan Lee through Launchpad Hospitality.
  • Vesta, at 875 N Railroad Ave., with no operator or chef named yet.
  • Onia, at 835 N Railroad Ave., which the district lists as arriving soon.

Vesta's address has a recent history. Juliana's Pizza opened at 875 in November 2025 and closed in June 2026, after less than a year, according to the Palm Beach Post's list of 2026 closures. The Post reported in July that Vesta would take over the space. If Nami Nori and Vesta open as planned, the 800 block gets two more restaurants in the stretch that now leans toward daytime. Until they have dates, Loco at 840 is the only dinner restaurant in that block.

The hotel and the dinner block keep evening activity in the 1000 and 1100 blocks. Over the coming months, watch which of Nami Nori, Vesta and Onia posts a date first. The Nora Hotel's own date is set for Monday, October 19, at 1135 N Railroad Ave.

At Jordan Karp, we follow hotel openings like The Nora closely, from both the hospitality-deal side and the neighborhood side. If you're curious what a new anchor at the end of a street like this can mean for property nearby, we're glad to talk it through quietly. Let's Connect.
